Your are alerted to this law that expands the State Contractor Business Registration Program to local government
contracts (including purchase orders/vouchers) effective September 1, 2004. It applies to both purchases below
the bid threshold and above the bid threshold
"Business organization" means an idividual, partnership, association, joint stock company, trust, corporation, or
other legal business entity or successor thereof. Please be advised that non-profit organizations and governmental entities are not required
to submit forms.
The law provides that:
- A copy of the Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Treasury shall be provided at the time any bid or Request for Proposal is submitted; Failure to do so is a fatal defect in your bid that cannot be cured.
- A copy of the Business Registration Certificate shall be submitted before any purchase order or other contracting document can be issued:
- Contractor's are responsible of notifying subcontractors of these requirements.
