Chaplaincy Program
Mission:
Become an anchor of support to our community by providing counsel, prayer and spiritual guidance to our citizens who are affected by crimes and other tragedy.
Goals of the chaplaincy program:
- To establish a working relationship with the pastors and spiritual leaders of our city.
- Assemble a list of community chaplains, which will assist in serving citizens who are affected by crimes and other tragedy.
What kinds of incident do Chaplains respond to?
- Homicides, sudden death, suicides, sexual and other assaults, severer
traffic collisions, kidnappings, domestic violence, child or elder abuse.
What do Chaplains actually do?
- Provide a peaceful environment.
- Counsel, prayer and spiritual support.
What kinds of people are called to be Chaplains?
- Deep faith convictions
- Disciplined
- Compassionated
- Good judgment
- Follow detailed protocols
- Exhibit profound peace and humility
