The Electrical Bureau is assigned to the Department of Utilities under the direction of Paul H. Redman.

A. MISSION STATEMENT
The Electrical Bureau's primary directive is to maintain a safe, efficient and liability free traffic control system in the City of Camden.

B. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Revenue has been secured to begin a major modernization program to many of the oldest signal systems in the city. Also planned for the near future is the design, installation and maintenance of flashing school zone warning systems. The Electrical Bureau has taken a very aggressive role in electrical repairs, renovations, and installations for many of the departments in the city to bring electrical systems up to present codes to enhance safety for the employees and the public in general. The bureau currently has the responsibility for one hundred nineteen signalized intersections.

The Electrical Bureau is the liaison between the City Administration and residents and Public Service Electric and Gas Company in matters regarding street lighting in the City of Camden. Complaints and requests for additional lighting are investigated and processed as required. The Electrical Bureau provides support staff for the operation of sound and recording systems for the City Council and other city agencies.
