A. ESTABLISHMENT
The Department of Utilities was established by ordinance in August 1981.
The divisions included under this department were the Director's Office, Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Sewer, Engineering and Construction Management, Energy Bureau and the Electrical Bureau.
In January 1999 the Water and Sewer Divisions were privatized and
currently are being run by Camden Water L.L.C.
The Department of Utilities is now comprised of the Director's Office,
Division of Engineering and Construction Management and the Electrical
Bureau.
A. MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of this department is to implement the capital improvement projects and to rebuild the infrastructure that supports the City of Camden economical development efforts.
B. DEPARTMENT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
- To provide safe, clean drinking water
- To assure a sufficient supply of water
- To improve neighborhoods block by block
- To improve traffic signals
- To improve street lighting
- To rebuild the infrastructure
