The various City commissions provide the Mayor, City Council and the Administration valuable input on a number of topics ranging from public safety, education, development, small business attraction, employment, local sourcing, housing, veteran affairs, arts and culture, to open space, recreational activities, senior and youth services. Those who serve will help the City address needs within the community by advising on policy priorities, programs, and propose initiatives on behalf of Camden’s citizens.

Candidates must be residents of the City of Camden, demonstrate a commitment to their community, exhibit strong community leadership qualities and should represent the rich diversity of the City of Camden. Members are expected to attend regularly scheduled meetings, in addition to supporting relevant meetings and events in the communities which they serve. Commission members serve in a volunteer capacity and are not paid. Members serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and City Council or their appointing authorities.
