ROOMING & BOARDING HOUSE SITE LICENSE BOARD
Please be advised that pursuant to NJSA 40:52-9 et. seq. and Municipal Ordinance MC-656 which was adopted on April 9, 2024, the City of Camden has re-activated the Rooming & Boarding House Site License Board.

The objectives and purposes of the Rooming and Boarding House Site Licensing Board of the City of Camden, State of New Jersey are those set forth in N.J.S.A. 40:52-9 et. seq. and Municipal Ordinance (MC-5498), adopted April 9, 2024. Codified in the code book under Chapter 656.
Additionally, the Board shall follow the Rooming and Boarding House Act of 1979 (N.J.S.A. 55:13B-1 et seq.), the Regulations Governing Rooming and Boarding Houses Standards (N.J.A.C 5:27-1 et seq.).
The Rooming & Boarding House Site Licensing Board shall follow the provisions of Chapter 656 and shall accordingly exercise its power in regard to:
- Applications for licensing: public notice
- Conditions for Licensure
- Conditions for Refusing license; public hearing
- License Issuance and renewal
- License Revocation
- Appeals
- Violations and Penalties
Board Members
The Board shall consist of three (3) members appointed pursuant to the provisions set forth in Section 2 of MC-656.
Alternate Members: The Board shall have two (2) alternates.
The Board shall consist of a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson and shall be selected by majority vote of the Board.
